Cape Cod

The Provincetown Center for Coastal Studies received funding from the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs to launch a new land-sea interface mapping team. Mark Borelli, Ph.D. has been hired to lead the program. He is in the process of building the program now. The preliminary study area is between Race Point and Wellfleet.

Mark is proposing to do lidar beach-face surveys and link them with shallow water multibeam surveys. Groundtruthing for grain size will also be incorporated, and major habitat features (SAV, etc) will be delineated.

DMF and CZM are helping to support the effort.
