NOAA survey altered under pressure from lobstermen

The R/V Thomas Jefferson spent Columbus Day weekend in Boston for some fixes so they could deploy the 2nd launch for surveying. In shallow waters, this is especially critical since they take so long to survey. Also, the lobstermen were clear that a smaller vessel would be better surveying through the gear than a large vessel.

I hear the plan is for the 2 launches to conduct all of the surveying in the Cape Cod Canal entrance. They should be starting up again soon (or have already). Still no official word from NOAA regarding the latest game plan.

The lawyers were called on this one!
